The ‘Black Panther’ director and ‘Girls Trip’ writer “controlled the industry with their unique creativity and perfected the art of storytelling for a worldwide audience,” according to the Board’s chairman.
Ryan Coogler and Tracy Oliver, both University of Southern California alumni, have joined the Board of Councilors of the School of Cinematic Arts.

The writer, director, and producer is a two-time Oscar nominee for his work on Black Panther, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and Creed. He attributed all of his skills to the school over the course of his more than a decade-long career.

“I am deeply thankful to Dean Daley, Kevin Feige, and Donna Langley for this prestigious opportunity, and I am thrilled to be joining them.”
